Treatment Options

One size does not fit all. This is true with clothes and with treatment plans.

Each young person has a unique history, personality, and environment. They may be struggling with a newly diagnosed disorder, a known disorder, or dual disorders. Trish considers the client’s whole story, matching that information with treatment options based on the program’s specialties and strengths.

The types of programs recommended by Pathfinder Consulting include:

/ Therapeutic boarding schools / Teen residential treatment / Therapeutic wilderness programs / Substance abuse treatment / Young adult treatment / Transition programs /

Beyond the Basics

Treatment can look very different from one young person to another. Some programs offer complementary and alternative therapeutics such as experiential therapy, equine therapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy, yoga, meditation, and more. The goal is to find the right combination of interventions for the unique individual.

How does Pathfinder Consulting select programs?

Pathfinder Consulting’s process for program selection and recommendation includes the following resources.

Accreditation & Certifications

Good programs keep their state licenses and accreditations up to date. Pathfinder would never recommend a program that is not in good standing with the appropriate standards.

A few of the national standards include:

  • Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF)

  • The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO)

  • National Association of Therapeutic Schools and Programs (NATSAP)

  • AEE Outdoor Behavioral Healthcare (OBH) Accreditation
